This page is dedicated to those residing at the Rose Garden to express their thoughts, feelings and opinions so that even if no one visits them at least you, my readers, may "get to know" them and love them hopefully as much as I do.

Keep coming back as this page will be updated when I receive their letters to post for them.

Sherri,

How can I thank you enough for taking me in when there was no place for me? Since I came out of prison and on parole, you have become my sponsor and come to be my friend.

I feel you have made my life much better than it could possibly be. Thank you for helping and providing me with the comforts and support of my current life.

I have noticed your care and concern for the mentally ill at the Rose Garden. You're doing your part in what the Good Book says to do! I haven't met any other like you and proves you are one of a kind.

I hope to have more good years at the Rose Garden and pray things go good for you in the work you're doing. I am going on with my life at a comfortable pace.

     Thank you very much Sherri.

Sherri,

I just wanted to write you a note to let you know how much I appreciate you and the Rose Garden.

I remember my first day here. Within ten minutes of meeting you, you had your arms around me giving me a hug. A hug I very much needed.

I admit my first few days here were hard on me, but once I settled down I began to feel at home.

Since I have been here I've watched the way you treat those of us who live here. You not only look out for us, you truly care about us. You can see it in your face, your beautiful smile, and in your actions.

You have a great concept here at the Rose Garden and I can see the possibilities of what this place will be. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it.

Thank you for putting a roof over my head when I had nowhere else to go.

But most of all, thank you for always having an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on and a hug when needed.

Lots of Love,

Arleen Williams

Having been a resident of the Rose Garden for almost ten years, I too would like to express my thanks, and best wishes, to Al and Sherri Slaton.

As one of the long-time residents, I have witnessed both the good times and the bad times. I have seen many, many people come and go, and many people RETURN (myself included). The Rose Garden has always managed to find a warm, comfortable bed to sleep in, and a meal for an empty stomach.

The Rose Garden has provided myself and others the opportunity to live my own life to my own standards, without interference, but always within acceptable standards of society.

I am aware of the many improvements that are in the offering, all with the betterment of all the residents in mind. With your vision and determination--I hope to be a part of-- and enjoy these improvements.

Thank you again Slatons (Al and Sherri), and best wishes for you and the Rose Garden.
